Cookie Policy
This is a translation provided for convenience only. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version alone is legally binding.
This page explains how SYNAPTIIK uses cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, technical fingerprints). In line with CNIL recommendations and the ePrivacy Directive, your choices are respected equally for all cookies that are not strictly necessary.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It allows information to be remembered (preferences, authentication session, audience measurement) between two visits.
2. Consent banner
On your first visit, a consent banner offers 3 buttons of equal visual weight, in line with the CNIL recommendation of 17 September 2020:
- Accept all — consent to all non-necessary categories;
- Reject all — rejection of all non-necessary categories, with the same visibility as the accept button;
- Customize — opens a fine-grained settings panel, category by category.
No box is pre-checked. Non-necessary cookies are only activated after an explicit action.
You can change your choices at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
3. Cookie categories
| Category | Consent | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Exempt (art. 82 French Data Protection Act) | Supabase session, theme preference, anti-CSRF token, Stripe checkout session, Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot) | Session or 12 months max |
| Analytics | Opt-in | PostHog EU Cloud (audience measurement, product funnel, A/B testing). Partial IP anonymization, no third-party enrichment. | 13 months |
| Monitoring | Exempt (service operation) | PostHog (error monitoring), Better Stack (uptime / logs) | 12 months |
| Marketing | Opt-in (disabled by default in v2) | No third-party marketing cookie is active to date. Phase 2: details to be provided upon deployment. | N/A |
| Preferences | Exempt | Language, theme (light/dark) and format preferences | 12 months |
4. Storing your consent
Your choice is stored client-side (cookie synaptiik-consent) and, for audit purposes, in the cookie_consents table with the following information: timestamp, banner version, accepted categories, user-agent, hashed IP address.
Consent cookie duration: 6 months (the request is renewed upon expiry to guarantee freedom of choice, in line with CNIL guidelines).
5. Product analytics — PostHog EU Cloud
Subject to your consent, SYNAPTIIK uses PostHog to measure product usage. The instance is hosted in the EU Cloud (Frankfurt); no data is transferred outside the European Union as part of this processing.
Protection measures: partial IP anonymization, session replay disabled on sensitive areas (billing, settings, privacy), no third-party enrichment, 13-month retention.
