Iris Works does well what it was built for: help a US photo studio organize booking, contracts and invoicing. Problem isn't software quality — it's the framework. In France, image rights assignment follows Civil Code and Intellectual Property Code, not US law. GDPR mandates specific data hosting and retention rules US tools don't guarantee. And from 2026, e-invoicing becomes progressively mandatory via a format (Factur-X) and channel (French DGFiP platform) specific to France. Using Iris Works in France means manually reworking contracts and facing e-invoicing compliance gaps.
